About Us

Sustainable strategies with technical rigor and business vision

At Sustyco, we start from a clear conviction: sustainability is applicable to any project when approached with method, technical analysis, and strategic vision. Our work has focused on demonstrating its real feasibility in different types of buildings, adapting international standards to the financial, technical, and operational reality of each development.

We turn sustainability into a management tool that strengthens real estate assets. We do not see certification as a mere procedure, but as a strategic process that must be integrated from the conception of the project.

Who We Are

We are a firm specialized in sustainability applied to the built environment, with experience in international certifications such as LEED and Fitwel, and local ones like CASA Colombia and Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC).

We support developers, construction companies, and investment funds in the structuring, implementation, and verification of environmental and wellness strategies that generate tangible and measurable value.

Our work combines:

  • In-depth technical analysis

  • Efficient process management

  • Strategic coordination with design and construction teams

  • Total transparency in every decision

Our Philosophy

We believe that sustainability is a universal strategy, not a privilege reserved for certain developments. That is why we work under a clear premise: it must be measurable, financially coherent, and adaptable to any typology when structured correctly.

We integrate every technical decision within the real context of the project —its scale, budget, and business objectives— ensuring tangible impact and verifiable results.

Our Differentiator

We operate with an international perspective and a strategic mindset. Our experience in Colombia and the United States has allowed us to understand how global standards should be translated —not replicated— in each context.

We have supported projects with diverse technical conditions and typologies, facing challenges that require judgment, not templates. This experience has allowed us to develop a flexible methodology, capable of adapting to design, construction, and market dynamics without losing rigor.

We do not apply recipes. We design sustainable strategies tailored to each asset.

Leadership and Vision

Mauricio Toro

Founder and Executive Director

Sustyco is led by its founder, a professional with over 20 years of experience in sustainability, applied research, and the development of solutions for the construction sector. His background includes projects focused on energy efficiency, technological innovation initiatives —such as 3D printing in concrete and augmented reality applications in construction— and certification processes under international standards.

This combination of research, innovation, and technical execution has allowed us to consolidate a practice that integrates sustainability with engineering judgment and strategic vision. Sustyco's leadership focuses on translating global standards into viable, efficient, and financially coherent solutions for each project.

More than a traditional consultancy, Sustyco operates as a technical-strategic ally capable of connecting environmental performance, innovation, and real estate value.

Industry engagement and recognition

We are active members of the Colombian Green Building Council (CCCS), participating in the technical and strategic evolution of the sector at the national level.

In addition, we have been officially designated as a Fitwel Champion + Provider by Fitwel, this allows us to provide guidance to projects under Fitwel Standard with a direct support from the certification entity and constant updated knowledge aligned with the technical requirements.

These connections strengthen our ability to operate under international frameworks with rigor, coherence, and sector alignment.
